Service Areas › Point Loma
Point Loma and the adjoining Sunset Cliffs and Ocean Beach blocks hold some of the oldest housing in the city, sitting directly in the marine layer, and the combination shows up immediately in shower hardware.
Much of Point Loma was built between 1920 and 1960, with a strong concentration of 1940s and 1950s homes near Sunset Cliffs and along the older streets off Rosecrans. Bathrooms in that stock are small and frequently original. There is also military housing and a newer layer near Liberty Station. Ocean Beach adjacent blocks have beach cottages with the same small-bath, out-of-square profile as Encinitas and Cardiff.
City of San Diego water, hard, with heavy marine humidity and salt exposure on the ocean side of the hill.
The typical Point Loma bathroom has a 48 inch alcove and an original tile surround, so the panel has to be custom width and the tile protected during tear out.
Homes on the Sunset Cliffs side need corrosion-resistant finishes; the salt load at the hinge is heavy enough that standard plating fails early.
Newer condo bathrooms near Liberty Station often have glass-to-glass corners and association install rules we handle.

Point Loma's 1940s homes frequently have the original cast iron drain and a curb that was poured higher than modern code allows. We check the curb and drain during the site visit rather than assuming a stock enclosure will fit.
Yes. Those are typically 48 inch alcoves with original tile, so we template a custom panel width, protect the tile, and confirm the curb height before ordering.
It does. Salt exposure at the hinge pivot is heavy enough that we spec corrosion-resistant finishes on the ocean side of the hill by default.
Yes. We provide the insurance certificate and schedule within the association's permitted install window.
