Custom enclosures in San Diego run $1,800 to $7,800. The wide spread is not markup, it is geometry. A neo-angle in a 1990s condo and a curved panel against a freestanding tub share nothing except being made of glass.
| Type | Typical Installed Price | Why It Costs What It Costs |
|---|---|---|
| Half-wall to glass with clamps | $1,800 - $3,200 | Glass sits on the pony wall. Channel or clamp mount, one or two panels, no door fabrication. |
| Custom neo-angle, three panels | $2,400 - $3,900 | Two fixed panels and a door meeting at 45 or 22.5 degrees. Every angle is fabricated, not bent from stock. |
| Curved or radius glass panel | $2,600 - $5,200 | Bent glass. Templated with a radius gauge, fabricated to order, and non-returnable. |
| Full-height with transom (steam-ready) | $4,200 - $7,800 | Glass to the ceiling plus a venting transom. Sealing detail is the work, not the glass. |
| Curved freestanding tub surround | $3,400 - $6,800 | No straight curb to land on. Every panel and seal is custom to the tub profile. |
| Angled corner with glass-to-glass return | $2,200 - $3,600 | More clamps, and a template that has to be exact because there is no wall to shim against. |
| Item | Added Cost | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Curved or bent glass | +$600 to +$1,800 | Bending is a separate fabrication step with its own lead time, usually 15 to 20 business days. |
| Low-iron glass | +$250 to +$600 | Removes the green edge. Necessary next to white marble or a view. |
| Glass-to-glass clamps instead of wall channels | +$180 to +$450 | More hardware and more precise fabrication, but a cleaner look with no metal on the wall. |
| Steam sealing package | +$400 to +$900 | Drop-down sweep, sealed jamb, transom vent. A steam room that leaks steam is a cold room. |
| Ceiling height over 96 inches | +$300 to +$700 | Taller panels need thicker glass and heavier hardware to control deflection. |
| Removing an existing tiled enclosure | +$250 to +$700 | Demo, disposal, and tile repair at the anchor points. |

Custom glass cannot be adjusted on site. If it is templated before the tile is finished, the dimensions are a guess and the panel is scrap. Every reputable shop waits for finished, cured tile.
The most common delay on a custom job is the gap between "tile almost done" and "tile actually done." We do not start the fabrication clock until we have measured the finished surface.
Bent panels are made for one opening and cannot be resold. That is why the deposit is larger and the dimensions get confirmed in writing twice.
Design and quote within a few days of the site visit. Template once tile and waterproofing are finished and cured. Fabrication is 10 to 18 business days for flat custom glass and 15 to 20 for curved. Install is usually a full day, longer for a steam enclosure that has to be tested.
Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people call us. The radius is measured with a gauge on site, not estimated from a photograph, because a 1/8 inch error on a bend shows up as a visible gap.
For glass only, normally no. If the job involves moving a drain, changing the curb, or adding a steam generator, that work is permitted separately and is not part of the glass scope.
It is cut and tempered to one specific opening. It cannot be resized, and nobody else's bathroom has those dimensions. That is why we confirm every measurement in writing before the order goes out.
Usually. We record thickness, edge profile, tint, and hole pattern, then cut a matching panel. Matching a 20-year-old tint exactly is not always possible, but it is close.
